country charm, in the

heart of downtown

Farmers Supply Co. has been a part of the Wilmington landscape for over 75 years. We’ve changed hands a few times, but we’ve never changed our roots.

Our first location was on Dock Street in the heart of downtown Wilmington, NC. It was a local hub for farmers and gardeners alike, with bags of feed, fresh seed, and a whole lot of friendly advice.

Over the decades, the owner, familiar faces and location may have changed, but the heart of the business hasn’t. We’ve always believed in carrying quality products that actually work in Wilmington’s climate, supporting local growers, and helping folks with whatever questions they bring through the door.

Today, we’re proud to still be here helping our people take care of the things that matter: their yards, their animals, and their plants. Whether you’re a backyard gardener or a seasoned grower, our goal is to support you with knowledge, quality supplies, and honest service.

Meet Teddy

Teddy Davis, Owner-Operator

Teddy grew up just three blocks from Farmers Supply tagging along on visits with his parents and grandparents. After 13 years working in HR, he felt a strong pull to do something more community-centered following Hurricane Florence.

When he heard that longtime owner Les Turlington was considering retirement, Teddy reached out. One lunch later, he was working part-time at the store, learning the ropes. He fell in love with the business and the people, and the rest is history.

Since purchasing the store in 2019, Teddy has been focused on continuing Farmer Supply’s legacy here while also building a team and product mix that supports Wilmington’s evolving plant, lawn, and feed needs.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find him wherever there’s good live music or on the water with his wife Alyson and their sons, Tee and Randall. He’s also proud to support local organizations like Airlie Gardens, Work on Wilmington, DREAMS, New Hanover High School athletics, Good Shepherd Center, Scouts, Eden Village, and area schools & community gardens.

What he wants you to know:

We’re here for the long haul. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or buying your first plant, we’re proud to be the kind of place where you’ll always be welcomed, remembered, and helped with care.
